Everyday when I go on Facebook I have a few friend request, so today I decided to deal with them first. The first two were just requests, no chat. The third one looked intriguing because he had written quite a lot. Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad fame, was requesting me as a friend!! Doesn’t it make you realise the power of Social Media! Of all people, Robert Kiyosaki. Incredible. Oh, don’t worry, I am not so naive that I believe he chose me specially, what is amazing to me is that he is there to connect at all!
We would never have believed it would be possible to speak to someone famous online a few years ago. On Twitter its easy to speak to famous people too. Incredible. Do you use social media sites for your home business? And if not why not? It would be easy for someone like Robert, in his 60’s to think it was too late for him to start using social media sites. You can get your own page to advertise you business, and give help and advice where possible. Then invite people to join your page. Like Robert did to me, you can invite people to become friends. And just see the results you get back.
However, do not push your business at others. Invite them in a friendly way. That is certainly the way to get someone interested. If you constantly bombard people with your business, you will become known as a spammer. If you give value, you will get people’s interest.
